TX4 VM Euro 4, depends on the diesel and driving style but usually around 29-30mpg.

Addition of some Millers Diesel Power Plus Sport 4 = 2 tonne of fun. :P

Has anyone tried using only shell V power or BP ultimate to run them and has it made any significant improvements to MPG or running?

I once by Accident used the Shell V Power Diesel...Developed by by ferrari it said..though i Couldnt think of any Ferrari Diesel Models. It cost me About £6 more to top up and "No" it made not one Iota of differance..though I got a lovely wee Diecast Model Ferrari.

Maybe for you 'that's life' but with the TX4 reportedly doing just 16.5 mpg (when used in central London) then I want to know for sure the fuel return of any vehicle that may be considering to purchase prior to splashing out £35k large. We now have the Vito taxi available & if that does 32 mpg in London

That's life is a take that no one else can have on life except the originator.

My TX2 does around 27 mpg, I'm happy with that, I'll give the PH taxi a miss until it's proved it can stand life in London. Guinea Pigs are welcome, but not me, not for a whole extra 5 MPG a day.

In 2009 then Metrocab in partnership with Fraser Nash will be releasing an electric hybrid taxi,

Until they go under for the 4th time. Then as per the last three times you'll be left with another experiment, minus the warranty.

I think they're concentrating on the Hydrogen fuel cell variety now. :-$

but I am not really interested in 'if it is busy or not on the streets'

I'm always interested in that, otherwise even if you find a Cab that does 200 MPG, there will be no point in owning one, so the thread like many here on TDO can encompass a variety of subjects.

If the recession really gets going, the day mob will save lots of Derv as they will spend 60% of their day sitting on the ranks like they did in 1992/3/4ish.

It's gas to liquid technology, it's Synthesised from natural gas - with outstanding ignition quality and exceptional purity for cleaner, efficient combustion and it's virtually sulpher free according to the blurb on the Shell website.

I notice a definite improvement with it though, much smoother running with better performance, don't know about the mpg yet but I'll try running it exclusivley on it for a week or so and see how it compares with the other stuff.

For it to cost me an extra six quid to top up with it at the current price differential, it would mean putting in nineteen and a half gallons at a cost of £118
