Today I discovered just how bad local cabbies are at opening their GOBS WITHOUT THINKING

Incident 1 ) A booking taken last night was not passed through to me so I sent a car out to pick up the customer and take him on to Peterborough station at my expense. AFTER the driver had picked up the passenger one of the drivers working the last night who was NOT on shift but who had his radio on and was listening in   started shouting down the radio denying that he had taken the booking with a second driver joining the conversation saying that the customer probably didn't book it and was just claiming that. Our radio system was on talk through at the time. Result one very angry customer phoned me up and made it very clear that he would never use us again and would be consulting his solicitor !!!!!!
One of the drivers involved who has been giving me a lot of grief over the last 10 days was sacked !

Incident 2) I arrive at the rank 2 drivers from another company are sat together at the front with a private car next a parked taxi then one of my drivers and me. The drivers have already heard about what happened from one of my drivers  and a few comments are shouted out at me followed by " you didn't sack the one thats been interfering with young girls then" or something very similar I was about 30 or 40 ft away. result several members of the general public now hqave heard a vicious rumour I have had to spend over an hour of my day on the phones with police and the council ascertaining if there is any truth in this which there appears not to be the council are not the slightest bit interested which alarms me because if anything like that did occur then the driver should be removed from the road immediately. The oilice say that if I can get enough evidence together then they can dio the driver for that but no surprises all the other drivers at the rank including the one that shouted it are prepared to lie through their teeth to protect him !!!!

I would consider sending a solicitor's letter to the mush with the big gob saying put up or shut up.
