I'd love a meter, stops all the arguments.
However, in london I can't see how PH can have meters when most don't know where they are going!

That's a good point. How can a driver take the shortest route if if he doesn't know where he is going? A tomtom will get you there eventually but not by the best route.

Up here PH are mostly driven by HC drivers as an HC licence allows you to drive PH as well.
PH drivers have to sit the same knowledge test as HC, so nobody bothers with it. There are only a couple of PH only drivers' licences, held by guys who got them years ago, before the knowledge requirement.
