There has been a few threads on this forum about night buses. and we can all see that it has its faults and chips away at the friday and saturday night trade.
However much you hate to see night buses they actually could be helping you? sounds daft? perhaps , but would you rather your council de-limit in order to get the [edited by admin] heads home on a saturday night?
Its a very good theory Steve but actualy very wrong.
Whats happening is during debates to de- limit councillors are lifting numbers then, moving resolutions to fund busses on Friday and Saturday nights
its a [edited by admin] take realy, one local authority asked the officers how much revenue would acrue from extra license fees. so that it could be diverted to the buses, this move was ruled against by a legal officer but goes to demonstrate how councullors think.
friday and saturday nights should be a subsidy free zone.
one certain night club manager in a northern city gets his bouncers to take numbers of taxis stopping at the club, between 12 and 2.30 taxis can claim
£3 per trip from the club, payable in cash monday morning.
