' the state of the trade'

Now who uses that little phrase on a repetitive basis?

Please expand on the state of the London trade then, 'cause where I'm standing, I do half the hours Cabbies in other cities do, I work when I want, where I want, and do what I want, and still take a good wage.

You'll have to point me to all the failings in that as I'm rather struggling to.

Or are you just another former LTDA member with an alternative agenda?

the London private hire are winning all the account work that the 'black cabs' will never get back.

Well that's tosh, because, as you know, several accounts bounce back to and from from the scabs to Taxis as service levels / costs change on a regular basis. They always have done even before Minicab licensing came in.

Scabs are always in front with pricing, their drivers work for slave wages, 7 days a week, 14 hours a day to service these accounts.

EC1 to Rochester for £50? Well that's the fuel money, what about the income? They're welcome to it, but that's why every major Minicab outfit in London has huge driver turnovers until they raid the next Romanian Orphanage. Crap wages, crap morale, goodbye company.

Like adverts, radios, etc, you don't need them to make a living as a Taxi driver in London.

Intelligent phone App's may well be the future, but until they take off, the streets, stations and airports will do me just fine. :D
