Basically you need to find a fleet owner who can get you on, the prices you've been quoted are correct for someone your age, seems outrageous but a driver can do a whole lot of damage and the insurance companies know this and quote accordingly, if it makes you feel any better I've got to get some temp cover on a private S&D car, not taxi and they flat refused to insure me because of my job and I'm double your age with clean license and max bonus.

Yeah, that's about right.

£2940 to insure me fully comp when I was 24. Though that's private hire, I expect Hackney to be more.

Gone down to £1,600 now with 3 years no claims.

Doom - Try www.dayinsure.com I don't think they mind the taxi trade. Didn't last time I looked.

Ben

The advice to find a fleet owner is sound. I know Summit will include u/25 on taxi fleets on the mainland. Can't be sure about where you are though.

We pat £4500 per car, but then again we working in an area that has the highest levels of criminal insurance claims.
