Tha ks for the replies earlier guys, here's some more do any of you use the coin holder's seen on other websites or do you just use a cloth bag and wallet for your cash, also if you run your own car how much do you put by for breakdowns and repairs. I am thinking of buying my own ph car which will be a superb also which insurance company do you recommend thanks agai .

I guess breakdowns etc will depend on how well the vehicle has been maintained in the past and how well you maintain it yourself, regular oil changes and not ignoring strange noises could well keep the costs down. I have friends who settle their vehicle and have for years and all in all it works out a bit cheaper than to buy one but then again once you've paid off any finance you may have on the vehicle you buy, and depending on any age limits set by your LA, you will reduce costs after a number of years but maintenance may well go up by then.

I use Freeway Insurance, they're quite good but again it depends on what nc you have and if they'll transfer them over for you.

Is, IMO, the correct answer.

But most of the other lads have the wrong answer.

The cheapest one is a good place to start.

Go to TDO's front page and check the links, or download a copy of Private Hire Monthly and ring some of those advertising.

I will be interested to see the gap between the cheapest and dearest. At a guess I would say it will be £2,000 difference.
