It was me that requested the section, so we wouldn't have to trawl through some of the rubbish

As Alex has locked his own Scottish Section thread after his last post on the matter

"I take on board what is being said, but those posts that left the Scottish Section cannot be put back.

It was a one way ticket.

Alex"

Maybe the moved posts can't go back, fair do's , but that is not the same as re-opening the Scottish section from Year Zero..EG: Today.

Maybe it was to much hassle for our moderators to police, but Im still hissed off that it's been removed using the sad passing of one of our favourite forum members as an excuse to do so, it seems a wee bit disrespectful. Gus's good lady would prefer it left in place to.

Unless there is some prohibitive cost to putting it back in place then it should be re-instated...other than that the only reason for not wanting it is Moderator apathy.

Using some of the reasons given you may as well replace the remaining 12 sections and just have one big general section as it's all loosely British Taxi related stuff.

Will this thread be removed, will it be locked, Will Isis have hacked into TDO and taken control of what we say?

I have looked and cannot find how to translate some of our sayings and terminology, perhaps they think we are talking about them

I see everyone shut up about the Scottish section taken away. Gus would be very disappointed if he was still here but as far as I am concerned it would never happen. It's only after he gone they do this and the Scottish taxi driver are rolling over and allowing it.

I for one is very disappointed for allowing this to happen

Sorry for your loss and the loss of the Scottish forum. Points were made in the TDO admin section, unfortunately it seems that the removal is irretrievable.

No one that I know was consulted either, seems rather heavy handed, needless and contemptuous to close it down, almost as if we scots were a bit of an inconvenience on TDO.

I'd prefer it put back in place...

no problem - kindly send a nice cheque to the moderators who'll gladly arrange a Scottish Taxi Website called Scottish Taxi Driver Online - a place where you can dress all manner of taxi stuff, and exchange haggis recipes - of course there'll be no Sassenachs there - and you folk can moderate it yourself - alternatively - lets just carry on how TDO was originally?

Was it removed for "financial" reasons or for "no one wanted the tedious task of moderating it" reasons.

As for sending a nice cheque to the moderators....hell we don't know who they all are?

I very much doubt that was the case.

I think we had some Scottish members moaning that the only stuff in the Scottish Section was bad news, or bad folks going over the same old stuff.

They may have been right, they may have been wrong, but now taxi news can be found in the taxi news section, licensing news can be found in the licensing section, and general news etc etc (you get the point) no matter which part of this wonderful Isle of ours you come from.

And you will know who the moderators are, due to them having **** tattooed on their foreheads. :-$

Thank **** for the word-sensor. :D
