hi, im desperately in need of a transducer for a series 3 metro, new or second hand, can anyone help

you mean the meter drive/transducer fitted in the speedo cable?

If the old one isn't working give it a spray of WD40. It worked OK on the Vauxhall Cavaliers and the Ford Cortinas and Sierra.
