A true story.

I was out tonight the 24th with my wife in a Wetherspoons, it was heaving.

I got to the bar to be served, as I was waiting I was greeted by one young lady also standing at the bar with a friend of hers as if she knew me. Hi how are you etc, I am wary (as you have to be) but thinking is this one of the staff from the pub in a different dress sense, than from when they are working - me not recognising her so to speak. She wishes me a happy Christmas and ruffles my hair at the same time, which sets alarm bells ringing (no it was not sleigh bells), her friend also wishes me a happy Christmas. We are talking whilst waiting to be served, she then says you look ever so handsome ( I am well dressed but nevertheless 68 years of age!), I am as you would be....feeling a little bit flattered to think that I can still pull! It was at that point that she started tipping waste drinks on the bar into her own glass.....I now understand when the Prime Minister talks about "Inflation and Deflation".....I guess that Oh bugger, and O'dear does not really cover it
