 Can anyone give my a bit of advice about using bus lanes in other cities.
Can a taxi from one city use the bus lanes in another city legally, or if they do are they braking the law. :?

i see plenty of taxi and PH from other areas using the bus lanes in Plymouth. i think it has more to do with if the town / city they are in permits taxis to use the bus lanes.

I think most places that allow local HC and PH to use the bus lanes, also allow non locals to use them.

Apart, I think, from London.

The general rule is NO, only vehicles licensed by the LA in question may use bus lanes.

It's the same as with taxi ranks.

Some LA's may have different rules, it's always worth checking, but I'd stay away from out - of - town bus lanes, then you're safe. This is something they could be funny over.

I have heard of a driver being fined for this sort of practice.

Thanks for the replies, the reason i asked was a HC driver from Cardiff was sent a ticket in the mail for using the bus lane in London, he rang the LA and explained he was a HC from Cardiff, and they waivered the ticket. I said he was very lucky, he replied that he had the right to use the bus lanes as he is a HC driver. I pointed out that he is a HC driver in Cardiff, not in London, (he was lucky).
