Hi all just starting out as a new private hire driver and in need off a car looking to spend £3000 on a car upfront or up to £8k on a finance one only problem being my credit is not that good could any one recommend anywhere? or at least what cars make good private hire? also what about insurance any good places to use? sorry for all the questions but in need to get started as i just hate my crap job am in at the minute ive already applied for badge medical blah blah blah laugh all you want at these questions but we all was a newbie once so any help is appreciated

When just starting out I would be reluctant to saddle my self with too much debt.
Another factor is does your licensing authority have any age limits on the car you can plate.
Another option is to rent a car from the operator you intend to work under which will give you the chance to see if driving a PH is for you without making a financial commitment though if you do think it's for you long term it is best to own your own car.

One other point if you do go the finance route to get a better car once you have given up your full time job and gone self employed it may make getting credit a little harder.

Don't use Fowlers Finance, they'll have your pants down and rip you off. All cars have a pin pad which you input a pin number which they send you every month when your payment has been received. Miss one payment and they'll come and snatch the car back.

your insurance will be more than a value of whatever you call it - a car... as wanna saying, get a badge, rent a car, make sure it's what you expected...
