I got one on Black Friday.

Will definably work as a radio. I've been using it as my radio in the bedroom instead of my old Cambridge DAB separate. Its own speaker is not to bad, but you can connect it to a proper speaker or amp via 3.5mm lead or bluetooth, which I don't think you can do on its big sister the Echo.

Good to just lay there and say "Echo.... Whats the time" or "Echo....Whats the weather". I've changed it so that it answer to 'Echo' instead of the default 'Alexa'. You get 3 choices - Alexa, Amazon, Echo

It uses Tune-in Radio as the default for radio stations. So to play a radio station you just need to say 'Echo... Play TalkSport' or "Echo... Play BBC Radio 5 live'. I do have a problem where if I ask for TalkRadio it plays an Italian music station. There is a second radio player that can be enabled called RadioPlayer. So to get TalkRadio I have to say 'Echo... Ask RadioPlayer to play TalkRadio' and that then plays the correct station. I also have a problem with Planet Rock where it will play a music track by Afrika Bambaataa and the Soul Sonic Force called Planet Rock, so I have to say 'Echo.... Play Planet Rock on Tunein'

Not looked into the other smart things it can do with some of these new lighting and heating controls systems that you can get nowadays. Would be nice to be able to get up and just say 'Echo.. turn the kettle on' and it will turn on the smart plug in the kitchen.

Also rigged it up in the car yesterday, internet connected via hotspot on my phone and bluetooth to the car stereo. Need to have a further play to see if its worth considering have one in there all the time, I don't have a streaming account, although my Amazon Prime account gives me a limited selection from the main Amazon Music streaming service, and my phone contract doesn't give me that big an amount for hotspot usage. Just think that it might be cool when a passenger asks for some music that you could just say 'echo... play the best tracks from 2010' etc

well, bought one from argos, took it back, "alexia Sunderland football club next game" " im sorry i didn't recognise the question " my mate tried it "alaxia nufc next game, " im sorry i didn't recognise the question " alexia Yorkshire pudding recipe " im sorry i didn't recognise the question ", yet it gave me a beef stroganoff recipe :? , the time worked & the alarm, i set up a tune in account & it worked fine, the app on my phone on the other hand was crap, all the fonts were on top of each other & i couldn't read it , so like i said took it back , will just use the phone as radio/alarm now ( tbh , dont really need the alarm for my school run as i am a early riser , & by the time i put my face on im never late  ) , also i could see me up all night arguing with the fooker when i was pi$$ed
