Off to Halfords tomorrow to get a Dash Cam fitted "NextBase dual dash" for my own family car, I have/had been umming and arring for some months on getting one. However the crazy standard of driving out on the roads has made my mind up - any thoughts on the model that I am going for/are there better for value cams out there?

Cost dual cam.....156.38
Hard wire kit........20.00
32 GBM SD Card.....15.00
Fitting................30.00

Total.................221.38

I have a blackvue dash cam
it is very good quality and you can view it with wifi on you phone
if you have one with screen built in it is so small it is a waste of time
I fitted it myself just pluged it in to the 12volt socket it goes to sleep to save the battery
but wakes up when there is something to record
have left it on for a week when away and parked in car parks at night

Re small screen - are you referring to your "Blackvue dash" the "Nextbase" Or a cam in general with a small screen?

like anything its a personal choice I would not be without one
In my cab I have a professional system fitted
three years ago somebody pulled out of a side turning straight into me
after the accident he said how sorry he was and it was his fault
We he went to work next day he told a different story to his boss
I sent the insurance co a copy of the video and that was the end of his story

as the "inward/cab" CCTV's arent supposed to capture audio (DPA and all that) dont dash cams need to be "audio off"?

Mine in the cab inside has got black and white vision and records audio
when I had to have the video downloaded after the accident I listened to the audio
Glad nobody else heard my comments
that is the only problem with dash cams they record everthing
