Hiya from a newbie

Are there any books available which will help me get a Glasgow black cab licence ? (Apart from the Glasgow A to Z of course  ).

I've been to the Adelphi Centre classes a couple of times but due to the shifts i'm working on my current job, I can't attend any more :-(
Any advice would be most welcome, are the classes essential, or can it be done with books ?

Cheers :D

I can't see what they can teach you in a class that you can't learn out of one.

Is there only one taxi knowledge school?

Deargreenblackhack

Here goes, it’s not about learning the knowledge pertaining to your area, it’s about knowing how to learn the knowledge of any area.

In short, MEMORY.

Look up the names below, these guys explain how to remember just about anything.

Don’t get taken in by the hype just remember (pardon the pun), you only get out what you put in

Search: Memory books and tapes.

Tony Buzan

Kevin Trudeau

I learned the Edinburgh knowledge with their help and I could barely read or write at the time.

I learned the streets by cycling around and using memory hooks, each street name I learned by rote, a bit like learning your times-tables.

The hardest part for me was writing it down. If you have no problem in the writing department the Glasgow knowledge should be a piece of [edited by admin].

I remember it like it was yesterday.

Have fun!

I'm hoping to take the test by about the middle of next year, hope I can get the hang of it pretty soon, my memory isn't the best.
