Well?

Do any of you guys use VOIP to save money on phone calls?

Curious as a lot of people havn't heard of it.

Free calls to most countries can't be bad - cost me £20 for a decent USB Phone - worth it already.

Voice over IP has been pioneered for years from a certain section of the internet community and it is only know in part coming to fruition. It is still going to take several years to replace the standard POTS but it will come eventually.

I think it's great, personally though I video conference through messenger, seeing faces makes it special

On a more serious note though, VoIP is big in the States but it has caused problems because it's not possible to use the phone to contact emergency services on the 911 number. I think it's problably the same here.

It's not a good idea to rely soley on VoIP

i use skype, it,s a free download, you need locations to sort of save you as a favorite, and b/band helps, great for networking, but be warned if you are on a download limit it eats into you bytes, not a lot but it does, so technically it's not free. i have a 2gb download and not had a problem tho.
