Visiting London with my daughter last week we took a black cab from Kings Cross to the Norfolk Hotel in Sussex Road,metered fare £9 80,another black cab from Oxford Street back to the hotel £7.80 going to the London Palladium at night we asked the hotel to arrange a cab for us, a mini cab arrived where the driver had no idea where the Palladium was and when we finally arrived there the charge was £15,black cab from the Palladium to the hotel £8. 40 on the day of departure mini cab from hotel back to KingsCross £14, morale of the story always get a black cab with a meter.

Or don't get your hotel to order you a car.

Someone has got to pay the doorman/receptionist.

Yes if can find one, your not from an ethnic minority presumably traffic was light if he could have sat in a jam he would have done, then youd find a meterd fare £30 pound+ Book a hack from a hotel and he s flagged downfor an airport he ll leave you and you miss your train/show regular scenario im afraid.
