Happy Ramadan people  In certain/most parts of the country we have quite an ethnic presence. Ramadan lasts for 30 days/nights and because it is religious the good Muslims have to fast during the day, so by about 7.30/8.00 pm ish they are starving and leave the ranks to go home and have a feed and then on to Mosque or vice versa :D they then return for the night shift but have to go home before it gets light to have another bite :D :D when you have 70% of the drivers going home it tends to make a little bit of a difference.

As I say 30 days/nights................well that is what it is supposed to be, but after 4/5 shifts they tend to bring their food with them as the money god takes over. Still as they say in one of the TV adverts " every little bit helps" and as far as I am concerned it is Christmas :-k

It's a nightmare though if you work days. For anyone that doesn't know, our dear friends can't eat, drink or even smoke while the sun's up.So to avoid temptation they all get out of the house and hey presto sit on the ranks all day.As if it's not bad enough already!
For your information Derby has 420 Hackneys, yes 420!That's more than Nottingham I've been told. And for a little guideline, most Saturday nights I get the old 'F*$k me,a white man driving a yellow cab!' routine.
So as for Christmas in Derby....Bah Humbug!
Kind regards
The ghost of Christmas past!

Omg I think you need a day in my shoes and that day should be Christmas Day. I always have such a wonderful time it's fab. Everybody around me is happy and nice. Everywhere looks so lovely with twinkling lights and the streets are peaceful. Then there's all the lovely food and friends and family. I get to buy new clothes and dress up and the icing on the cake is the sack full of things for ME cos I've been a good girl all year (at least that's what my mummy says) :D

If you have a Bah Humbug attitude you will have a Bah Humbug Christmas

I got that the other week when I went to Leicester on a job, called at a shop in Beaumont Leys for some ciggies and a bottle of water, the chap said stop there I need a still image from the CCTV, me being bemused I asked why? He said a white Taxi Taxi driver we haven't had one round here for ages.

And then you have THIS
