One of our drivers has just rang me. She was asked to take a passenger to a destination, wait and return. So she picked the customer up and engaged the meter. At the end of the job, the meter was reading £31.30 so the driver said just call it £30.00.
The customer goes up in arms saying that it is a rip off because another company in the town have done the job for her before and only charged £18.00. When asked why she didn't use them this time she replied because they were not available.
The same company were mentioned on the phone to me this morning by a chap wanting to arrange transport from a village to and from school for his kids and some others. I told him what we could do for him and that the price for a 4 passenger car would be around £12.00 and a 6 passenger car would be £18.00 per journey. He said that this other company did the job last week for £10.00. Again I asked why aren't you booking with him, again they are not available.

It happened again last night. A group of customers went from a village south of our town to Sat Bains in Nottingham. A round trip of 50 miles each journey. the return was booked for 23.30. The driver had to wait 40 minutes after this time before they were ready to leave. The total fare for the 2 journeys was just over £100, so the driver said just make it £100. The customer kicked off saying that he usually pays £35 each way with his usual driver. Eventually he threw £100 at her saying it was a rip off. It was less than the metered fare. Mind you he left the restaurant bill in the car.
There were supposed to be 6 of them dining but one cancelled. The cost for each meal was £99.00 but the cancelled meal was £100.00. With the various extras and drinks the bill came to £1,108.28 including the tip of £112.03. the 6 bottles of wine came to over £300.00
And they quibble about the taxi fare.

I would've left them after 30 minutes waiting. Where was his usual driver?

Get it all the time from restaurants and casinos.
Often overhear how much they've spent on the meal and that they left a £20 tip, or that they tell me they've won £100's - and at the end of the journey they then have the cheek to ask for the discount :x

Probably in the bankruptcy court.
