my mate is selling his vito 9 seater, so, was talking to him this morning , asking if he had any interest, he said not at the moment, its on ebay , hes not that bothered atm as he is sourcing some speakers & speaker grills that one of the kids "kicked in" , now a few years ago another mate had his £100 + sunglasses smashed by one of his kids on the run, he claimed off the council & got the money, my mate with the vito tried & was refused , who is responsible then , just wondering ( i do mine in a bus for another firm ) but toying of getting my own after the holidays, so who is actually responsible then ?, the council? kids parents?or driver ?

Kids parents but good luck in getting the cash.

that's what i thought tbh , although like i posted the council paid for my mates shades, he did say that he refused one of the kids in the first place on the grounds hes a fooking nutter (he knew what he was like booting windows etc..) but the council said any damage could be claimed for , & he did , must be different with other councils i suppose, just thought i would ask

Down here we put a claim in against the customer, which is nearly always the local council.

you had much damage in the past then mate ? you get paid without any messing about ? or was it a long haul getting the cash?

Not me cos I don't do that work, but vehicles on the company that do do the work yes.

And I've not heard of a legit claim being refused.

If a special needs kid does damage to your motor on a job that has been contracted to you, then it's down to who gave you the work.

ask the county council who is paying the bill for soiling or damage, if they say the parents send the parents a warning letter

take no prisoners

I send the bill to the parents. I let the parents discuss with County Hall who is paying.

The problem is some of the naughty kids have scum parents, and some of the special needs kids have potless special needs parents.

Why is that a problem. Every time I have sent a bill out for this with school kids it has been paid by either the parents or the Council.

and the one who puked up his breakfast porridge one morning costing me over £70 to clear the stench was in a school with £15k a year fees (state paid) with parents who had TWO £450K houses, a garage full of top sports bike/caterham 7 sports car, BMW 5 series, sports speed boat, his own engineering firm but never paid me a penny
