Was at the Pick Up Zone at Edinburgh Airport Yesterday and there was several Hi Viz Jacketed Maple Parking attendants making a nuisance of themselves and their Punters were abondoning the Chauffeur park vehicles in the spaces reserved for Taxis and PH's at the Pick up....Is this shambles officially sanctioned by Edinburgh Airport to clog the pick up zone up or not, surely these Muppets could find somewhere outside the of the Pick UP zone to carry out their Chauffeur parking from...anyone know whats going on?

Are the chauffeur vehicles licensed? If they are then they are private hire vehicles.

It's not Chauffeur Vehicles, It's Chauffeur Parking of owners Own vehicles..a posh meet and greet on arrival and departure....where their drivers park your car somewhere else at the Airport to save you getting wet or to save you time., It's what I'd have called Valet Parking and that used to have It's own drop off area and maybe still has, now it seems to have migrated to the Pick up parking area and it's leaving cars being dumped randomly in the PH taxi parking are and other areas..bloody nuisance it is.

The tvvats at East Midlands have been causing chaos today, the queue was stretching right back to Donnington Services, when I got into the Airport there were two idiots there in green coats holding cars up. Of course I had a rant at them.

If there's a queue slip through the industrial estate, it brings you out near the BP Garage.

yes but the queue went back past that roundabout from the sounds of it and a lot of people know that "long cut" last time I tried it took another 20 minutes just to get round the roundabout at the BP and into the queue for the car park.

The trouble is since they've put that oversize meet and greet in there just isn't enough room

If there is a known problem we turn left at the A6 junction then right and go through Long Whatton and Diseworth. it brings you out just past the airport entrance.

Ah interesting ,as due to tightened security these days ,their are clear signs in there stating that vehicles must not be left unattended, I once also had some jobsworth point this out to me when I had to run to loo after dropping off. Funny what's overlooked when a few more £££s involved.

Yep there were two of them on there holding the traffic up because it was full. They can't turn people round because they've committed to go into that area. I didn't have to pay to get out, the chap in front of me paid to get through and when I got to the barrier it didn't drop down even though I had my money in my hand ready to pay.

now now never look a gift horse in the mouth I've had that a couple of times at Luton where due to severe congestion on the approach roads they put the barriers through and let everyone exit without paying to ease the congestion
