Prince Charles launched his 'green revolution' with a stark warning that we are all 'living on borrowed time' if we don't stop eating up the world's resources.

The heir to the throne is determined to reduce his carbon footprint on the world. He encourages his staff to make trips around the capital on bicycle instead of taking cars or cabs.

Actor Stephen Fry and comedian Al Murray have teamed up to make a film in support of the Prince. Fry, a close friend of Charles, plays Planet Earth while Murray, otherwise known as the Pub Landlord, stars as the Moon in the appeal.

The Prince is set to label all his Duchy Originals range with details of greenhouse gases made during their production. The Queen has already gone green at Windsor Castle with a plan to use hydroelectric power.

The Duke of Edinburgh uses a taxi cab fuelled by liquid petroleum gas to travel around London, while water in a bore hole at Buckingham Palace is used to supply air conditioning to the Queen's gallery before topping up the water levels in the Palace lake.

I agree with Prince Charles, just look at the devastation caused by the tornado in Kensal rise this morning.

Why are these becoming more prevelant in recent years? :?

I use powerpills which have cut my emissions to Euro4 levels (as good as a TX4) and our other car, a discovery run's on LPG.

Perhaps the ageing socialist who 'runs' London should consider the thousands of Buses that run around London spewing out their smoke, empty for most of the day?
Lets face it, if the Taxi's are quiet, the vast majority rank up, and the Minicabs return to their bases.

I'm not sure about the royals, it all seems very strange to me. :?

But I think my 9 year old son summed it up when the queens garden party stopped him getting to the war hammer shop in the high st.

He said 'who is this queen anyway' and believe it or not I didn't quite no how to answer. :?

Needless to say if you want her and her family and it makes you happy then fair enough. :?

I've always puzzled over this one

President Bush

President Blair

President Brown

President Reagan

President Idi Amin

President Yeltsin

President Putin

President Clinton

President Peron

President Jimbo

Or Queen Elizabeth, over 50 years and counting, a no brainer for me, no better head of state in my lifetime, anywhere in the World.

And terry for your "republic" to stand a hope you will need the support of the armed forces, and I KNOW that will never, ever happen.

Just an opinion Capt but me id rather a system that elects.
Now how about President Tony Benn that would do me.
She is MOST definetly not my Queen, nor am i her SUBJECT.I strongly object to being associated with things that arrange the murder of a member of their own family.
I think we will have to agree to disagree
UP THE REPUBLIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep. Bit like the Irish Republican Army.

I think though you will find the "electorate" are quite happy with things the way they are. Even the Aussies voted to keep the monarchy.

MY QUEEN? Hmmm..... I really quite like that terry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
