Wouldn't he want a back hander just to go to the interview?

I'm sorry but i don't think big sam would have the tactical nouse for the International job he would certainly be a better motivator of the players than mcClaren but i doubt he could outwit some of the top International coaches on tactics Interesting to see how many are ruling themselves out already

It seems to me, after watching the latest games (both Newcastle and England) that the players either do not understand what the manager has asked them to do, are not capable of doing what the manager wants them to do or can't be bothered to do what the manager wants them to do.

I know you will say the manager picks the team, and I know you'll suggest that playing one up front at home is negative ............. but England should have controlled the mid-field and they didn't.

On Newcastle, we have to many players making the game to complicated and we were made to suffer by Liverpool who play simple but very effective football.

The trouble half the time is that the manager of the day plays players out of position, the player ends up having a crap game, which then gets interpreted as he was off form! No he was not off form, it was the manager asking him to do a job that he was not comfortable with.

They did it with Rooney, played him up front like a typical centre forward, result - nowhere as effective as when he is coming from the middle of the park. That kind of thinking goes on all the time.

One other thing, England have got all the talent that you could want, but they play with fear in their game. With the players that they have they should be taking the game to them and ripping them apart on a regular basis.

I agree ................ but all I'm trying to say is that by changing manager you only get rid of one of the many things that are wrong .................. and as the manager is the person who must take responsibility for their decisions the players MUST take responsibility for their own poor performances.

England players lack passion and hunger ................. taking a squad of players from the Championship with Bertie Bassett as the manager could well have qualified for the Euro's ................ but we need these so called superstars even though they couldn't give a fook.
