plus they trade inside........

This is why they wouldn't need to hold on to the oil. It doesn't matter if the price rises or falls the commodity broker still gets paid.

most of these arrangements are never physical anyway, or the seller holds the goods for free, brokers PROMISE to buy the goods quite often, and sell before paying for them, all on a trust basis
