I normally tell them not to bother with the meter and bung them more than the trip is worth. Especially if I pulled him off the front of a rank for a short hire.

He was the only car on the rank and most journey's in my town are no more than 1 mile. It is not a big town.

But if you forgot to say anything and he charged you over the fare regardless then you'd be annoyed?
