No, what we are led

to believe, [we have this new licenceing officer [ex copper] you can quote for out of area but can't use your meter,[out of area] if you quote, not trying to rob anyone just trying to be fair, so we estimate say 25 quid, eg, but to get it right I'll be fair and I'll do it on the meter I'll say, any more it's more or any less I'll give you change, you can't say fairer than that can you
we all know some of em want the taxi ride to be for next to nothing, some after consuming large amounts of 3 and 4 quid bottle of booze, 50 quid meal, think we should do them a favour and take them home for as little as possible
what about the persistant customers who you get to know who short change you, this is the reason that some of us ask for cash up front, it's ok saying don't take them but the following week some of these punters get through the net and get in the cab, you can only just remember them after a few days unless they have stung you big style.
how many do you know come for a cab and say I have only got 4 or 5 quid, or even less, regularly try to wangle a cheap trip home, my god they've spent wot 60 =80 quid on booze kebabs night clubs, the list goes on and yet again it the poor old taxi driver who hit
I know this is not on, but a couple of years ago this youth got a cab £3.20 worth to a pub, got to the pub, stopped the meter, £3.30 please, he efffed about for 5 minutes into his pockets, I haven't got the fare he said but only 2 quid, I said to him ok, give me the 2 quid, got the brass and I told him thats ok I'll just take you back to town £1.20's worth, to which I did, not a very happy chappy, so how was he going to get more beer at the pub
