Thank you to everyone for these comments - As long as everyone is honest at the start - eg - any previous conditions or illnesses - if something happened there is no reason for them not to pay out

Space Invader - thank you - this is exactly what its for - If you're sick who pays you?
You mention saving £25 / £50 a Month for a rainy day - would that bring you £1000 a month like my policies can? AT £50 a Month, you would have to save 2 years to get the amount I can get. 2 years saving to get one Months money

Maybe we can talk?

Wannabeeahack

I have nothing to hide - I have the brochures with all the print ( none of it small ) and I explain eveything clearly -

Toots Fair comment but this would be too hard to manage - you would be getting calls for all sorts !!!

GBC Id be interested to speak to you about this LDTA Policy? The Policy I have in Mind can pay out for upto 1 year or 2 years

Sussex You say dont bother selling to the trade? If I don't, who will? what would it take to gain your trust and assure you I am trying to protect you? If I wasn't bothered, would I be going to all this effort? I have a colleague in Northern Ireland - all she does is Income Protection for Taxi Drivers and other self employed industries

Wannabee With the greatest of respect - you know I can't tell you who it is - whats to stop you going direct to the company?
Id be more than happy to discuss over the telephone or face to face visit

Right, I am exhausted !!!! I hope I have answered your questions / statements?
Once again, I am only trying to help you guys, so thanks for reading

I'm trying to save you wasting your time, but if you think you have a product that drivers will want, then go for it.

I have a policy that pays out £1000 a month after 4 weeks so I'm ok jack erhhh mr west.Like I say its expensive,if its a choice of food on the table for family or one of these policies then dont go for one, food and housing more IMPORTANT than money wasted on a policy you may never need-if you can afford it then like a pension worth having "at least something" in place just in case.

Wannabe - I deal with several insurance providers, normally I find out what your requirements are, then I search for you and gladly come back with the best price for your circumstances and more than happy to tell you who are they are before you proceed, but.....

I deal with
Aviva
Bupa
Bright Grey
Exeter Family Friendly
Friends Provident
Scottish Provident

Hope this helps

Richard

Thanks for your reply Space Invader, it sounds very similar to a policy I deal with, I appreciate your comments re food and housing - but what if no money was coming in to pay for these living costs?

I was talking to another driver and he said - if he charged an extra £1 on one of his fares every day, he could cover the cost !!!

But thanks for feedback

Grandad - I have to earn a living too, like most I have a family to house and feed so yes I do get commission from the Company - I have nothing to hide.

I feel if you knew me better you would see how genuine I am in trying help a sector of self employed
Part of me does feel a little ganged upon on here i'm not sure what else I could say other than I did drive from Hull to Nottingham twice to help someone -

Insurance that pays out big sums is always gonna cost something,if you owe gas/electric/car/tax man then deal with your debts first, reduce them then think about a policy.Maybe cut down on fags, shop at poundland, lunch at greggs to pay for it.

All these bills DO add up,yeah just a pound a day but ALL the pounds add up to £200-£300 a week.Whats more important food on the table now and transport to work or pension in the future when like mr stobard rip you may go at 56 and not need it!!!

With the rises in council tax, food inflation,heating,fuel-people havent even got the money to go shopping-we are in a 2nd recession due to cost of living and VAT rises final nail in the coffin.

Hello

My name is Richard West from Swanland Insurance & Mortgages and I specialise in Income Protection for Self Employed Taxi Drivers.

I wanted to enquire, what would you do or how would you pay your bills if you were unable to work because of an accident or were too ill to work?

There is a new product which has recently launched called “Bills & Things”

It is a policy that pays upto £1000 per Month for upto 2 years

No proof of earnings required
Can cost from as little as £1 per day*

• *price quoted based on a male aged 40. He wanted the maximum of £1000 per Month to pay his bills upto the maximum period of 2 years
• This would cost £26.99 a Month, 89p a Day

If you would like to know more, please call me on 01482 300472 to discuss further

I think the FSA would be interested in how you Introduced yourself on this site, also, missing out the majority of the product features, the product provider and self promotion, dont think that would go down too well with the powers that be. I am all for enterprising individuals but i think you should have done your homework on your Introduction and disclosure of facts, features and benefits my son
