AHEM...

can the buyer find the transaction on his/her debit/credit card statement as that can be proof of purchase if the retailer kicks off, its certainly OK with Argos cos the lads TV blew up and he got a refund using his statement

technically ypu DONT need proof of purchase but its handy

The best one I've bought is the one I have now, a Navman from Halfords for £89. It's way in front of the Tom Tom I used to have.

Well the transit box contraption thing with assembly diagrams and instructions has arrived today as they said it would, ready labelled with the dedicated repair number, together with the Next Day Guaranteed before 1.00pm Special Delivery plastic sack envelope for me to send the TomTom back in.

It's going to Regenersis in Glenrothes, Fife, but the label does not have Scotland in the address.

So it's all packed waiting for proof of date of purchase.

It won't be going until Monday now.

That's a bargain but I'm sure it doesn't have a connection to a live person on the phone who can find things for you if your satnav doesn't nor do I believe it has live traffic info to avoid jams etc

Looking at the brochure it sounds expensive, do you pay for every journey the download to you? Or is there a fixed charge that includes everything?

buy an identical one from argos

in 2 weeks take your knackered unit in with the box from the new one, they wont even look at it, take the reciept for your refund...

Same with Tesco. Took a printer back day after I bought it, hardly glanced at the receipt and didn't even open the box to see if there was a printer inside !

I'm not sure to be honest cos it was included in the vehicle that I had at the time with 3 years full usage. I believe you can buy the unit which gives free satnav etc but you pay monthly for the other services that include the call centre directions. I've considered it again because it's not in my current vehicle but I wouldn't be paying for it so the extra costs wouldn't concern me and the office I work from are quite happy to pay for it

Should still be under guarantee.

Tell them to fix it.

I have and they are sending a transit box pre-paid on Special Delivery for me to send it back in.

But there's a big. big problem!!

I have to send it to a repair centre which is in Scotland!!!

I asked for one in England, but the only one in the UK is in Scotland!!

Well....Look on the brightside, its going to be fixed properly then.
