It kind of messes with your mind, Giant vehicle Insurance Costs, Soaring Fuel Prices, Vehicle servicing costs Spiralling upwards....Everybody wanting ever more of your Hard earned...VAT adding 1/5th to everything you buy.

Then whats left the Taxman takes around 30% of through NI and Income Tax.

Then you spend the wee bit thats left as profit and the VAT man adds a further 1/5th of that to you purchases....

Then the Next poor bugger down the line who is trying to make a modest living by selling you goods goes through the same thing with the money you pass on...he coughs out 1/5th VAt, 30% Ni and Income tax.

By the time it gets 5 people down the line the governments ended up with the fechin lot.

Makes me think that £79 dole and my rent paid by the government is the only way to make a profit in this topsy turvey world of ours, and I could lie in bed all day every day without a care in the world.

Now..where do I sign on?

well they are expencive say like no one has sold in past 2-3 years an you put yours onto the market you'll be able to get a offer between 90-110k buy say people are selling on a regular basis and there's a few selling then you'll be lucky to get over 60k as if you want 100k for your one your buyer could go to the 2nd person selling an offer less then go To the 3rd an offer even less
But people buy as they see it as a good bussines as they think the trade won't always stay dead it'll pik up but me personaly I don't think it will
But I need a bussines idea in which ill succeed and make good money ino ill need to put hours into the bussiness and a lot of work but the problem is what bussiness to do.

Avon, Bettaware, Kleeneeze or you could try the one and only Kirby hoover route, £2000 for a hoover??

Kirby cleaners? Are they still going? What about Amway, are they still going?
You could always buy an established franchise. Dents direct, chips away, either of them could keep you busy.

Yup if he has got a plate to sell then he's got the capital to buy another franchise or business but judging by the posts above I think he would feel very uncomfortable about moving into unfamiliar territory or a job where he hasn't got loads of mates also doing

Trade has been very poor of late we have enough phone work to keep us just about heads above water rank work is very hard to come by in sufficient amounts to be economically viable a couple of weeks ago i had someone who relies on rank work out of the station begging and pleading with me to come on our board but as |i tried to explain my drivers are struggling to pay their bills so another car taking a share of the work is not going to happen unless trade picks up

As I said before without knowing what other experience/qualifications you have it's kind of difficult to recommend a business idea to you. I can think of quite a few if you wanna buy one off me

Rainy f*cking day?

Perhaps some of us did, because we expected light to moderate precipitation some time in the future.

But we never thought the 'rainy days' would become everlasting rainstorms, hurricanes and whirlwinds.

I think most taxi drivers are now pondering changing their names to Noah and getting an NVQ in building Arks!!

I have no idea why people are doing so maybe they just see the trade different to me
It got me thinking a month back when I heard a cab and plate was sold for 80k so I asked around and there's a few offerers going but I think if I sell what am I going to do next as here there are so many shops, takeaways, resturants so no point going into them as too many around and won't be worth it
So really I have no clue in what to do I just got my cab back last week as I installed a new engine in it now its much quieter but still not enough work.

£80K could see you on telly in 'Homes Under the Hammer'!!

It'd be as well if some drivers would get a qualification to pass on the knowledge they themselves have of this trade never mind bloody arks
