My advice still stands. Withdraw the application and apply again later - even if it's next month.
I wish you luck, you're going to need it.

Good advice ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Then go for it.

But you have to remember no conviction is ever spent in relation to taxi/PH driver applications. Never.

I've been alive for over 43 years, and never been cautioned or convicted of anything, i also hold a clean license since I passed my test.

It always amazes me when people are shocked that committing crime or behaving like a t*** comes back to bite them later in life.

'but it was when I was younger' they cry.

Should have thought more about life back then I guess.

An NVQ course is for people who are already working within the and should have been for 12 months, not that anybody takes any notice of that

Not that anyone takes any notice of an NVQ anyway. It's only use is as a form of punishment - it has no other practical merit, except perhaps as way of employing the Tutors.

'nother wobbly then Toots?

Just like to thank everyone that replied, and to confirm that my hearing date was put back to August. However i was seen by a committee, they where very good and recognised my willingness to rehabilitate, and after great questioning they granted my taxi badge, although i did nearly blow it at one point when i was asked why i did not declare some convictions, and put on the spot infront of a large group of councillors in a very large courtroom my mind completely froze and i was unable to give a proper explanation for around 30secs, gave some feeble excuses before kicking into life and putting forward a good case.

Thanks

I'm glad to hear your badge has been granted. Things DO come back to bite yer bum later in life as I found out on a number of occasions, and not brushes with the law I hasten to add!

I'd follow the advice of the others on here and go for lorry driving, there's more money to be earnt doing that than cab driving!

I think being honest about ones past, and keeping out of trouble for a good period, is all councillors generally want to hear if they are being reasonable.

Lucky for you you got a reasonable committee.
