I don't think an NVQ in anything would help an apprentice. Clearly the meaning of the term apprentice has changed since I served my apprenticship. My apprenticeship was for 3 1/2 years which had been reduced from the previous 4 year apprenticeships that were the norm at the time. Our first year was spent full time at college and then day release after that. We could opt to continue with day release after our apprenticeship finished and I carried on for a full 5 years. After the 3 1/2 years we received a fully debentured apprenticeship certificate with the additional qualifications added when I earned them. I was then classed as a skilled engineer. I wonder what they get now?

I think the real issue is not that they got called in but the conditions they were expected to exist in and possibly the amount of hours, I see no reason not to utilise those that draw benefits, but I see no reason to abuse them either, it has upsides, if you can re-generate a work ethic you win, give ppl a feeling of being involved and not cast off, but keep it real in respect of hours and somewhere to sleep if you are going to do this.

You be careful, I might mistake you for an Argentinian :-$

As for talking bo--ocks, I think you're doing a fine job all by yourself, because if you think what I said was wrong then you must be a freeloader, you get nothing for nothing mate, if you want something you should always make it happen for yourself in the accepted fair way of trade, i.e I have something you want and if I want to sell it you provide the askings for it, simple system isn't it,

Now quit bothering me I'm in the middle of oiling my weapons.

Personally I think it's shocking if true. If there is work out there that needs to be done it should be paid for or ask for volunteers. Nobody should work for nothing unless they choose to do so

None of them mind taking the money and doing nothing..Look at the big fat lard arses who don't do anything and even a walk to the benefit office is considered a days work, stop there money and give out food tokens.Be proud to work and what you earn .we are to soft on this country.

I'd like nothing more than to see these people in work and I'd be quite happy if they were given food stamps, but 2 wrongs don't make a right imo and it was wrong what they did

I think you will find "her maj" actually comes from a line that RULED and fought a war against Cromwell to deny the public self-rule.

Given the choice HRH wouldnt be a glorified employee, she would rule the country, thats what kings and queens do, tory? get real....they are related to the Kaisers and Czars!
