what does your "union" collect each year in subs? what does the heirarchy (bosses) get paid (or claim in expenses) and as your a capitalist...... WTF are you doing in a union?

would you be in the union if it threw its weight behind a political party not of your liking?

there WAS a time when unions were noble, worthwhile, well intended and idealistic groups, but since about 1960 they have closed factories, shut pits, caused disruption to railways and shipyards, mainly when Labour were not in power... strange that int it

Eventually the workers turned on Robbo though....

The word thatcher springs to mind ,cant think why ? The wages issue im glad for your family as long as there happy in their jobs, but its not that relevant to the bigger picture. Fact is union fight for better working conditions aswell as wages, have they all got good pensions aswell ? While were on the my dads bigger than your my missus is a strong u ion member and she earns more than any of your three

JLR is not a stand alone business, it is a division of tata motors, I wonder if Solihull workers are united with thier "brothers" at the other plants, where unions are probably shot at to bring into line, and I wonder when Solihull will shut and 30 ruppee a day non-union labour gets to build RR's....

Tata Motors has auto manufacturing and assembly plants in Jamshedpur, Pantnagar, Lucknow, Sanand, Dharwad and Pune, India, as well as in Argentina, South Africa, Thailand and the United Kingdom

Nice shiny buttons thanks

One for Maggies trophy cupboard

Quote:
200,000 council houses were sold to their tenants in 1982, and by 1987, more than 1,000,000 council houses in Britain had been sold to their tenants, although the number of council houses purchased by tenants declined during the 1990s.

The Labour Party was initially against the sales and pledged to oppose them at the 1983 general election, but the dropped their official opposition in 1985. However, at the 1987 general election, the Conservative government warned voters that a Labour government would still abolish the scheme.

My eldest daughter has just bought hers, in 3 years she will make a packet just by selling the garden off for development (with OPP)

God bless Maggie!

Maggie also made millions of workers share holders in big ex-nationalised companies like British gas (remember sid), doing more for them than any union rabble rousers ever could, maybe it made up what many lost while on strikes called by paid union leaders
