£30 to reset the meters?

crooks

£25 is Cygnus' recommended rate for a meter change, allegedly.

£25 + VAT = £30

Not if you all put in the pot and buy the chip, getting a new chip which will alter all the meters will save the drivers £££££

that would require a team effort - not a common event between drivers

I think but could be wrong, that before anyone can re-programme meters they need to get a licence/permission off the LA - and that costs about £250. And that licence only covers them for that particular meter change. One of the firms round here did it and I was told it cost £250 to get the 'key'. Seems a lot so maybe the figures inflated so the firm could then justify charging each driver a tenner to do the change, still cheaper for the drivers though.

Yesterday the council invited owners to a meeting to discuss a fare rise, yes we can have one if we wish, but it will only be 2.5% and will take 600 hires to recoup the cost of implementing this due to the meter installers charge of £30.
The meeting was taken by a Mr Timothy Stephenson, formerly of Rutland council???.
He said that Rutland where in consultation that all there cabs where to be WC accessible, and that had been implemented and that most of the hack owners changed to PH because of this.
Can anyone confirm if this took place

News to me as well skippy Berridges don't have any WAV's and in fact in Rutland Hackneys don't even need to have a meter ! I usually bump into Berridge's drivers when I do work for a local coach company so I shall ask one of their drivers then if he's heard of this but it would make very little difference in Rutland if all the vehicles went PH because apart from Oakham train station and the market square at night vehicles don't rank up

Long time ago since I left school but I make it that the first £1230 of sales will cover the cost of resetting your Meter.

Thereafter you're quids in

I spoke with one of the drivers from Berridges last night and as far as he is aware there are no WAVs in Rutland at all. Does this Stephenson clown think that drivers from around the country never communicate with each other?
