WHY would anyone have an accident simply because 2 little reflectors had been removed?

the main use of cats eyes was in WW2 when there was no street lighting and car headlamps had to be blinkered, since then things have improved quite a bit

out here if we were to drive to the left of cats eyes we could end up in a ditch cos they probably ARE a cat
