NOT MINE !!!! we have a system of working with all jobs shared equally unless there are customer requests for a particular driver or 6 or 8 seater it is a lot easier to run a board fairly than it is to run it crooked the only difference is we have to be careful who we have on board as drivers in the past have tried cheating the system and then that does cause arguments.

Back to the matter in hand as you rent a c ar you are classed as self employed NOT employed you may not be able to bring a case to an industrial tribunal BUT perhaps if there are several drivers in your position you could organise a meeting between drivers and management to discuss it. This can work quite well as it is a great forum to resolve all sorts of issues and move forwards.

Failing that it might be worth pointing out that split purse arrangements are a grey area as far as self employment is concerned and the inland revenue is targetting the taxi trade at the moment and suggest that all the drivers be put on a rental basis like you so that the owner doesn't get landed with a bill for tens of thousands of pounds in unpaid tax and national insurance

Welcome to the taxi trade.
Why dont you get a loan and set yourself up with your own car and pay it off at 240 a week. then at the end youl have something to show for it
