Try South Essex Insurance Brokers (SEIB). mine's about £1000 a year fully comp with Ecclesiatical.

Ecclesiastical have now pulled out of commercial motor insurance, and private as well I think. South Essex are actually owned by Ecclesiatical! Go figure! Anyway latest info I have is that SEIB have done a deal with Equity Red Star to take over the book of business. Still through SEIB though.

Be careful with some of the quotes from J&M, both direct and through their agents. Premiums can be very competitive but there are some nasty clauses especially surrounding glass cover. Buyer beware and read the small print thoroughly. Best if you are looking for "catastrophy" cover at a low price. Alpha and Quodos are Danish insurance co's with little or no experience of the UK motor insurance market, let alone taxis.

J&M had to go there cos they burned everyone else, Aviva, RSA etc.

Im thinking the variation between brokers quoting using the same insurance companies must be down to differing markups?

Patons quoted £1469, or using LV £1779!

when i asked i was told it was because patons had no midlands office so LV quote high, so there you have it, Insurance companies upping rates and choking the trade!

I like a laugh in the dark days of december...

Quote:
I can confirm the following quotations for your taxi insurance

Taxi Fleet Plus at annual premium of £1.999.89 including IPT
Orbit Insurance at annual premium of £1,710.00 including IPT however they only have 5 million Public Liability
And for the school contracts you’d be required to take out additional liability cover and we can offer with Taxi Fleet plus for £130.40 including IPT. (Refunds are not given on the public liability policy)
This make the policy a total of £1,840.40 including IPT =D>

J&M are an annual premium of £2,029.00 including IPT

A late charge up the far rail sees Taxi centre coming in at £1046 looking good for a win

£1040 looks the winner

Enterprise Insurance via the taxi centre

Fully comp, 5 years protected NCB, £10,000,000 public liability, windscreen cover (excess £60) insurance excess a tad high at £400, but thats lower than my current insurance,

£1144 total by 9 instalments or £1040 in a lump
