It is written into their constitution that they can carry guns. I think it is the law in some states. I don't see any real changes happening because if they change this part of the constitution, which part comes next?

Populations

Finland - 5,387,000
Australia - 22,620,600
England and Wales - 56,000,000
Spain - 47,000,000
Germany - 81,726,000
Canada - 34,500,000
USA - 311,591,917

In Finland people dont meet much.....lol

Using your own figues, if gun killing was as common here, there would have been 1708 in England and Wales, instead of 39.
If the opposite were true, the US would have had 217 instead of 9484.

I don't suppose the victims or their families would have given a rat's arse whether it was a handgun, shotgun, assault rifle or a howitzer for that matter.

You ignore the "chaos" factor, too many people ceammed into urban areas

Finland has vast areas of snowy wasteland, the USA has vast cities in hot areas, its a proven fact that humans get irritated with each other when its too warm, they have easy access to guns in the US, they dont have a punch up they have a shoot out

Unlike England, where there are no overcrowded cities

So has Alaska, but that's beside the point.

Yanks shoot each other in all weathers. Perhaps more in summer but not really relevant.
Spain is as hot in summer as most of the US. They don't have gun killings on the same scale.

I think you just made my point for me. #-o

Each STATE has its own individual gun laws, they are often like independent countries, the west was won with the gun

Alaska needs more research by Team WB... maybe the polar bears got guns?

And?

They have a constitutional right to be armed to the teeth.

Until they sprout a brain, they will continue to bury their kids.

I watched the statement and have to say that in the present circumstances the NRA are correct.

The genie is out of the bottle, and with the cork having been lost it has caused an irreversible situation, as there are so many guns out there that it would be impossible to get even a tiny fraction of them off of the streets.

The only answer in this case is to fight fire with fire, funded by every gun owner/NRA member/shop gun sellers/armament makers, in fact anyone who has anything from making them, to the gun owners...........along with additional taxes for every gun owned over one - to fund security for the children of Americas monster.

The NRA has many influential people as members, at least one of them is from their "Homeland Security" department, and it will be people like that who will lead the way forward of a fashion, in keeping this major problem under some sort of control.

As horrendous as it is, the problem is not a lot different than say Germany based on the stats provided by Wannabe. America stating the obvious is a very large country (basically 50 ish countries size wise in one). If you divide the 50 into 9484, then it gives you 189.68 kills theoretically per country - Germany is 194...........No body has mentioned the German problem!

Saying no one has mentioned the German problem, it shocks me that I have not heard one muttering from the very area that it happened in, saying leadership has to come from this area to lead the way forward in turning their guns in - so I guess that it is not going to happen! The area that this tragedy happened in has so I believe over 30 firing ranges close by.............leadership must come from them!

The cost of putting an armed guard at each school in the USA would prove prohibitive, and even then a shooter could attack a shopping mall, sports event, etc, etc, - the ones where armed guards would not normally be present, or even a large McDonalds, obviously guards are not the answer, and its not legal guns that cause problems usually, its the black market that cant be stopped that can often be the source of a weapon

Almost all the top ten console games worldwide feature guns in one form or another from Halo to Call Of Duty

is it no wonder gun crime occurs?
