We have a p!zz poor tariff - a pound extra after midnight until 6.00 and all day on a Sunday.....nobody moans about the pound but they would about time and a half/double time. As said it depends on your/my area - London can, Aberdeen can, Cardiff cannot. I get people who are used to London fares who cannot believe how cheap we are compared to them - and then we have people from our neck of the woods who might have to count the pennies.

Look at where you live and what money is in the area - and then make a sensible judgement on what should/can be charged, as it is no good having double or triple time if the punters are not going to come out.

I cannot understand as to why you do not have waiting time #-o

T1 = £3.60 1st mile then 17p per 176 yards...or £1.70 per mile (51 miles = £88.60)

T2 = x .5 = £132.90

But its a Dec 2012 rate.....

We are not lot different.

Flag £2.00 then 20p every 207 yards.

Waiting time 20p per 48 seconds

No tariff 2 so to speak - just an extra £1 after midnight and all day Sunday.

Ours was last updated Sept 2011.......of which I strongly disagree - but what do I know :roll:

we have but we normally don't charge it (meter always stopped), if there is waiting longer than 5 mins we can charge but it's on driver's discretion.
£2,50 pull off
£4,90 first mile
£1,80 thereafter
£15,00/h (if so)

so mile 1 = £2.50+£4.90? = £7.40?

Absolute madness.

why? i don't work bank hols anymore for that reason, they stopped it & went on normal rates, why should i give up my bank holiday to take people to work who are on double time , for a normal rate? i honestly cant comprehend the way taxi firms work, the public will be getting them for nothing soon

What about the workers who are on continental shifts who work weekends and bank holidays for no extra, do they like being charged T2?

I think you've forgot that there aren't many places left that work Monday to Friday with weekends off meaning if workers go in on a weekend they get double time. It doesn't happen any more we're in a 7 day a week society now.
