What about trying to get in.....You will get tow here.. but not for dropping off.

Parking in front of a dropped kerb is not illegal. Who would tow the vehicle away?

I do not think that would quite cut the mustard....try telling that one to a Judge/Lawyer/Captain of industry who would require access to their one mile long drive, in order to get to the mansion :-k

It is if the kerb has been dropped your obstructing a persons rights of exit or access. You can park in front of someone's gate if the kerb hasn't been dropped.

As I said earlier, You may be done for obstructing someones exit but you can't be done for obstructing their entry. It is not against the law. Look it up

I dropped in front of the gate off the yellow line where the kerb is dropped. Does that count as well? No obstruction of anyone leaving the property. The gate is wide enough to allow 2 vehicles passing.

Makda v The parking adjudicator made it clear that Taxis or PH cars setting down or picking up a passenger was quite rightly allowed.

That alone has won me the last 3 PCN's whilst waiting on account jobs.

Thank f*** for a minicab driver with some balls. =D>

Why not give us the full story? Maybe post it on Pepipoo where you will get a lot of good free advice. I presume you've parked on a yellow/double yellow line/red route and got a pcn which you've not bothered to appeal and ignored. The council can after going through a process clearly laid down take court action to get bailiffs to clamp your car. You'd have to have ignored everything for that to happen, and the costs ratch up considerably to the many hundreds of pounds.

There's usually an exemption for vehicles picking up and setting down passengers and plenty of previous cases where that has been allowed as an exemption, I had one a few years back which you can find on here somewhere.

However, if you've been in a private car park and got a so-called penalty, then a different set of rules apply. Bailiffs simply cannot turn up and clamp your car. Again, go to Pepipoo for advice.
