There's certain groups of people whose work is seasonal, maybe ice cream sellers, actors, people like me who restore old vehicles, artists, who earn very little for say a year then all the income comes in a short period of time. I rarely get paid for restoration work until the job is finished, much the same as artists or sculptors, yet I'm working most of the time. Cab driving is a small part of what I have to do to scrape a living.

maybe the removal of tax credit to drivers will halt the silly price cutting

I hope not but I fear it will lead to longer hours in many cases, I would prefer it if people working in the industry all earned enough so that benefits would not be needed but the drivers especially in Ph have little input in the setting of fares.

some are so greedy as to work excessive hours AND claim benefits even though they are making good money, its just greed

It is usual in the building game that a deposit is paid before the work starts and progressive payments are made at certain stages of the build.

So basically drivers should be employed?????

drivers yes, they dont own or invest in a business so even by HMRC rules arent S/E
