tbh i would have just said " i'm a taxi driver not a bin man " no matter how much she offered after a fare like that , that's why people perceive taxi drivers as " second class citizens" do absolutely anything for money, sadly ,only have themselves to blame
Its called providing a SERVICE which in this day and age with more cars and drivers out there than work you need to do for instance today i had a lady get in on the rank she wasn't going that far but had a back problem and needed her shopping bag taking to the door it took me all of 15 seconds to do that but I got 60p tip on top of the £2.40 fare and a customer who will use us again next time which is the most important thing
I know that many do not have a choice re fares. Having said that, the last thing in the world that I would be wanting to do, is to encourage £2.40p fares even if 0.60p is tagged on the end. If it is a regular who gives you more remunerate jobs - then fair enough, other than that it is hardly worth starting your motor up.
Think about it! She managed to get her shopping all the way to the rank.......but could not manage a few steps at the other end

A pizz taker.
