The insurance will be invalid as you cannot insure a vehicle with 2 insurance companies at the same time.

what are you on about his taxi policy like all taxi policies covers business use I.E. parcels takeaways shopping etc.

have you never been asked to deliver a parcel or a takeaway ? Quite legal on a taxi policy

Not sure. Mine states 'the carriage of passengers and their goods for hire and reward' - don't know if that means 'goods' on their own or must be with a passenger.

1. Theres a difference between private carrier (suitcases with passenger) and common carrier (haulage)

2. Whats your GIT level of cover.........bet youve got none

My insurer says that occasional parcels are ok but if it is part of a contract for delivery then GIT insurance must be added. They said that is was very cheap.

I had already asked my driver and he checked it out with his insurer who ok'd him doing the parcels but he did mention they are the same as Hermes's insurer so probably has got GIT added on

FFS............the Hermes insurance will be GIT

Goods
In

I used to have £1,500,000 GIT per vehicle with a Norwich Union Fresight policy, 100 page booklet/guide came with it

Hermes wont insure the vehicle

driver announced a few days ago that he was cutting his hours down further and taking on extra delivery rounds for Hermes

today i am being bombarded with texts saying he wants his hours back and he's jacking the parcels in

I think things aren't right at home :-k and all those hours spent doing both to generate the money to please her have backfired

Think everyone should read the small print in their insurance schedule, they may find that the motor insurance is void if using the vehicle for hire and reward re goods in transit,if this is in the schedule it would not matter if you had git insurance, the vehicle would not be insured.

Have a look at Tradex policy schedule others are going to insert the same.

Vehicle insurance and GIT are not connected the latter ONLY covers the goods.

My £20,000 cover wouldnt have paid for the oil paintings a guy had my van collect....nor the very expensive shotgun taken for repair (guy said after it was a "mid priced" gun)
