A poem for my nan – by Ellie. My nan was a kind, gentle soul, and giving her family the best was her main goal. She’d tell us story’s, she gave us laughs, and she’d cherish the times with her sisters Viv and Kath. She spent half a century with the love of her life, and I know my grandad is missing his darling wife. My nan had many friends, but Rona was most dear, they’d always have a drink and a laugh, and overlook their many years. I’ll treasure the times we had baking goodies in the kitchen, making fudge and cakes to fuel our addiction ! When she was younger, wow what a stunner, her legs were long and lean, she should’ve been a runner! I’ll miss the games we used to play, like winning us all at monopoly on a Sunday, once she got going that was it, ruthless she was, she wouldn’t quit. We will miss you nan ever so much, your smile, your laugh, and your gentle warm touch. In the arms of the angels you were carried away but in our hearts you will forever stay
She is at rest now
