You should read the terms of the contract, if it is like most the company are committed to covering the job for a minimum of 8 weeks (normal term of notice) if they can't the LA can bring in another contractor to cover the job at whatever cost and you have to pay the difference between that and the original quote. An open cheque. What about all the failed tenders that they work on and get nothing back. Get whole picture and 25% is not unreasonable. I wish the government only put 25% on fuel.

I think the only fair question, is what does the school contract work out to you on a mileage plus time basis?

Is the contract paying less than your normal metered or PH rate?

I think the lad has a valid point, when he asks why do the ops take such a big cut, but the answer is quite clear.
