Having read more about this today, it appears that it was a right shambles in court.

The jury deliberated for over 52 hours, & that 52 hour took over five weeks!!!

In that period of over five weeks that they deliberated for about 52 hours, the judge allowed;

A break of two days because one jurors grandmother/father was taken seriously ill.

Various ad hoc days off for illness of jurors,

And wait for it .......

All jurors had a two week holiday, the dates of which had been set before the trial started, right bang in the middle of their deliberations.

IS IT LITTLE WONDER THAT THE JURY HAD LOST THE PLOT & WERE NO LONGER CONCENTRATING!!!

The judge must have been p*ssed throughout the trial!!

Wouldnt it have been a whole lot easier just taking them to a field and shooting them through the back of the head in the middle of the night?

I'm not sure of the cost of 7.62mm rounds these days, perhaps they cost a little more due to the depreciation of the pound against the Euro?

But I figure they wont have cost the millions it cost us to take them to trial and imprison them.

Before the trial started do you think that anyone would have known exactly when it would end? When people are required to do jury service they have to fill out a form that states any days within a certain period of time when they will not be available and this is taken into account when assigning jurors to trials. Sometimes things just don't work out right.

The general gist of the reporting was that the judge mis-managed the trial to a great extent, including the business of the two weeks off during the jury's deliberations.

indeed it was, but Mi5/Mi6 and the spooks managed to infiltrate, bribe, back door the IRA, they havent achieved quite the same success with this lot
