Mr GBC.
BTW having a gran dad who was of scottish desent doesn't make me half scottish. The same for my welsh gran dad. As both my parrents were born in st Mary's, that makes me british English. My nephew is half welsh.
You done a great job on me by mixing up all my posts and confusing me with other posters, but you have never come up with anything original.

It's the norm here to pay Double settle over the 2 week period. Do we get double the work or double the earnings or does father christmas exist of course not.

I'm all for setting up a co-operative taxi co. but taxi drivers are notoriously all talk and no action. Apart from which if 20 drivers left our place they wouldn't even notice and as to whether they would care I doubt that very much they just give the sets out to the next 20 people with the cash.

money talks, bullshit walks

demanding double is robbery, if the base ops are worthy of a bonus the boss should pay it out of his own pocket

how many radios does he rent out, and whats the normal rent?

Lets see it's approx. 350 drivers at a settle of £85.00 per week. Surely you can't expect them to pay it out of THIER own pockets. OMG they may have to go without something

and let me guess

the owner has his own workshop that mends the cars that he hires to drivers with block insurance to do his account work and takes 20% of that as well

and some wonder why i wont rent a radio?..

Our hackney tariff is double fare christmas day and (I think) boxing day with a few fare and a half periods as well.

Our staff will get their normal pay but we have a 'whipround' of 70 cars who are encouraged to put in at least a fiver, some contribute more. Previous 'management' made the supplement compulsory. It was something else that contributed to their downfall. Now, we are a team, staff and drivers.

I understand you're a tad stupid and you make up incidents to make yourself look something other than a sad old lad with little life, luckily that will never be lost in any 'confusion' you perceive.

You should have more time off like me.

I'll see if I can be arsed tomorrow.

Strange, I seem to have man flu at the moment and I'm of the same opinion, I went to Barrow on an account job today, but that was about all, I think I've done 4 hours this week!

No not in this case. We are all owner drivers there is no block insurance available to us cos that would mean more work for the office and probably some form of surity required by the insurance company which would have to be paid by the office. We do however have credit work that is paid at a reduced rate for the hospital contracts but all other credit work is normal rate. It doesn't take a genius to work out which contract has the greatest amount of work to cover!! Do they advertise no they don't, do they care if they flood our system and the drivers and sitting around knitting, apparently not. So long as they are paid their settle you won't hear from them.
