I think the Rail Regulator met with the GMB and outlined that the law only allowed him to act if the permit prices accounted for a very high percentage of drivers takings.
Because the permit price is only a fraction of the money gained from working the station, the Rail Regulator can't really do much.
At the time I remember me suggesting people get in contact with the Rail Regulator, and I think the Discount Kid in fact did.
I remember the GMB asked the RR to find out how station people got to a permit price, and what basis they put the prices up, but clearly that hasn't come out.
And the GMB chap who originally initiated the complaint, is no-longer part of the GMB hierarchy.
