This is a sore subject and every true cabbie knows it.
When they are struggling for drivers they take anybody and they go out and do what they want.
It has been with us for years and gradually got worse because there is nobody to police the culprits eusasmiles.zip

To pluck one country out of the blue, there are white Nigerians, asian Nigerians, probably even second generation Oriental Nigerians.

Give it a few years, it will be the former East Europeans who will be stood there chanting, well however Bosnians chant 'taxi taxi'.

You don't have to refer to a person's skin colour to appear racist.

The problem with your stance is that your primary objection to these people seems to be thier nationality/race/ethnic group or whatever.

You may not realise this, but I suspect that any public figure making the kind of comments that you do would be pilloried for it.

On the other hand, I doubt if you would say these things in the LTDA's journal (say) with your real name appended, so I suspect you are not naive enough to realise how you sound.

Take the big story on ITN news tonight, for example, the PC's un-PC reference to an 'Arab' was clearly considered taboo.

I'm not heavily into political correctness, but I certainly wouldn't make the kind of comments you do.

Indeed, if other members made the same comments they'd be pilloried for it, but then again ijn this respect it depends which side you're on re the taxi issues.

My point was that GBC hadn't got the picture, so why do you think he has?

Now I don't join Internet forums, but when I read this one I had to join!

Listen to the two of you, who do you think we are, I'll remind you were Taxi drivers, thats it, not politicion's, Doctors, JP's, Cabbies, thats it.

If the Green badge bloke has opinions then thats up to him, if the guy TDO cannot reply without going on like an old woman, taking 9 paragraphs to reply to one, then bully to him too.

You go on at him about fact and opinion, then give your OPINION as to why he is wrong. Says who? You TDO? well that must be right then if you say he is wrong. given you are obviously god almighty.

You 'suspect' many things on many subjects? I notice going through the other sections on this website anyone who dares to disagree with you is knocked down again and again and again, until the original point is lost in a deluge of long words and unrelated points.

Nice to know some have more money and time in their lives than sense, anyway keep argueing, its really getting you both places and lots of respect from the other website users?

So if a woman driver cut you up, you would'nt think, or say 'stupid bit**'

Or if a guy in a turban walked out in front of you without looking causing you to slam on the anchors, you would not utter a single race orientated comment?

I think you WOULD make the kind of comment you mention in your above speal, if you deny you would, then I think its obvious you are telling porkies.

Its human nature in a situation as described above, to refer to the persons immeadiate appearance.

I get the impression you would start an arguement in an empty room giver the chance, and still step out saying 'well that told him'.

Good for you! I'll sleep much better knowing this guy TDO wins all the arguements on a Taxi website??!! :-o :) :D

I've lost what this is all about, but from my limited experience of illegal touting in London, I think it's fair to say that a significant % of those drivers are from an ethnic background.

Which is a shame, cos if they do the job properly (and got licensed), then their is shed loads of work out there for them. :-k

Now you seem familiar

So what you are trying to say is that you either can't or won't debate issues, so other people are to blame for that #-o

But then you give us your tuppence worth anyway :-k

So more debate from the person who denigrates debaters.

So if you think I think I'm god almighty, then you must think you're even better.

Anyway, your post is even more irrlevant than your first one, because we were not talking about the type of scenario in question.

But then pointing this out will make me in the wrong and means I think I'm god almighty.

Zat you Mick

Yes, you are no doubt correct about the first paragraph, but what is the relevance of pointing this out?

As for the second paragraph, quite correct, but my point was that GBC was straying on to irrelvant matters for no apparent legitiamate reason.

So have a go, and take a little trip on a voyage of self discovery.

As for 'just' taxi drivers, i'll have you know we have PH, Taxi drivers, Minicabs, even a Blobby on this site.

Well after the first fifteen screens without getting near the test I gave up :?

But please note that I never accused you of being racist, I merely said that you sounded racist :-s
