You have achieved market saturation, more supply than demand, Didnt think Milton Keynes central could take that many cabs.

THATS ABOUT IT YOU IGNORED WHAT WAS CLEARLY COMING REFUSED OFFERS OF HELP SAT ON YER ARSES NOW YOU REAP THE BENEFIT GOOD!

Yh there's about 300 cabs what should i do tell people to stop coming into the trade?
and your trying to say we could of stopped deregulations look at all the over areas which got deregulated they all fight and explain to councils what can happen when deregulated the dangers of people working too many hours etc but at the end of the day councils don't listen and just go ahead with it.

You don't know how hard it is to make a decent living now working 12 hours for less than £50,
I've at times started worked friday afternoon at 12pm worked non stop till 4am then back on the road 10am till 4am and still not making enough.
I don't see what councils gets out of deregulations because for cab drivers its killing working long hard shifts.
Milton keynes only has rank spaces for about 90 cabs so the rest have to drive around burning fuel untill flagged or found a space, in 12 hours of working its hard to even do 10-12 fares.

Shouldn't stop folks joining the trade, just up the standards big-time to keep the riff raff out.

toots your question how much is that going to cost, well i think the answer is much less than the cost of NOT organising Unionising as i repeatedly quote BOTTOM OF THE LEAGUE MORE HOURS FOR LESS THAN ANY OTHER INDUSTRY and to cap it all you provide a vital service, A Union will only be as good as its membership its a vehicle the members drive, we see many opinions here on TDO many of which should be aired in organisations with the influence and power to progress those ideas debate vote stand together you will make progress, disagreement debate is GOOD many minds can be changed [as mine has been frequently ] 1000 will always have more influence than 1!! =D> =D> =D> =D>

Skyline help was offered advice given TAKE the political route no you dimbos did nothing your City could have been influenced the politicians could have been convinced limitation could have been achieved but NO the decision was DO NOTHING now you reap the benefit GOOD :D :D

Lets hope that others learn from your stupidity [ no not you personally but the trade as a group] GET UNIONISED NOW!!!!!!!! =D> =D> =D> =D>

By the way the hours your working are DANGEROUS if any of you get involved in a serious accident resulting in a DEATH you will very likely looking at between 5 and 7 years and you deserve it its a bloody disgrace, but that could of course open the door for an attack on the politicians :?: :?: :?:

But the LC want minimum standards.

'Cheap and cheerful' was a reported quote coming from the mouth of one of the LC team at the Sheffield LC Roadshow.

Skyline: If working for 12 hours for £50 does not appeal to you; don't do it. Then the rest of us will earn a little more.

That's how the market works.

And do you think they will take any notice, especially at a time of prolonged large scale unemployment?

We can only do what we can.

If it wasn't for the cross border issue I think we have/had a chance, but you can't sort out cross border without basic standards.

Should it happen in the way I think it will, then we must ensure the Sec of State ups the basic standards. Best we can do methinks.
