The Labour Party was initially against the sales and pledged to oppose them at the 1983 general election, but the dropped their official opposition in 1985. However, at the 1987 general election, the Conservative government warned voters that a Labour government would still abolish the scheme.

Thatcher bought off large chunks of the electorate by selling them council houses at a fraction of their value.
She sold them shares in companies they already owned, setting up a new middle class who would ultimately pay the price of her dogma.
She wiped out the country's industrial base and made us dependent on foreign imports for almost everything.

And what happened to all the money?

Slowly the image of Labour as it was (socialist thugs wanting to run the country without the money or brains to) and the Union leaders (socialist thugs wanting to run the country without the money or brains to) has faded from memory, many dont recall Wilson, Calaghan, etc, they looked grim, they WERE grim, Prescot was the last "Old" Labour to cling on in Blairs grasping approach (if you cant beat em, copy em) that turned Labour into Tory just to gain votes, and "New Labour" made sure the Unions were locked in a box, they were no vote winner so had to toe the party line.

Grim Labour

It isnt mentioned much how Scargill got removed from the USSR, his socialism was just not welcome in the land he loves....

Where did the money go?

Kremlin money so what how much did that shower in Buckingham Palace cop off of Adolf Hitler ie George the 6th ??????? oops dont want go near that one do yer.

Scargill was a great leader the country should have backed the miners with a GENERAL STRIKE but Kinnock and the effing New Labour scum were coming through and betrayed the Nation did thousands of miles meself helping to stop the SCAB SHYTTE and now the nation pays the PRICE for their betrayal

Housing shortage's

Utility's Gas Water Electricity owned by foreigners the profits going abroad and the HIGHEST PRICES in Europe

Manufacturing slaughtered millions out of work

Railways again the most expensive in Europe billions of Tax Payers money going into shareholders pockets

All down to that slag Thatcher !

The saddest thing to me is that those suffering the most those that work in a very dangerous industry those that do more hours for less money than any other worker fail to recognise where the problem came from ie thickos like you wannabe, and really I wouldnt care about your "me first attitude" and your Racism but cretins like you would do it all again no wonder yer drive a cab     bet thats an intellectual challenge for yer

mmm, Scargill.... lets think

your industry produces fuel (coal) which is used in power stations and domestic house fires

ok

the UK stock piles are at a record level, its the middle of summer

lets call a strike!

FFS trots, even you coulda seen that as a disaster

but the NUM heirachy (who were not having my weekly subs) were paid despite the strike, they didnt go hungry

12th March - just as summer arrived.....

have you ever worked down a pit trotts? they close for a variety of reasons, ours was over 100 years old, the "new" side, 6ft seams roadways 8ft high and 15ft wide...nice. The "old side" not so nice, part of it the scene of a pit disaster in 1888, but still producing coal.....at a loss.

im glad there arent many left cos id shudder if our lads said they were going underground
